Anne, yes, please share. I don't know why it has taken me so long to pursue researching this series, maybe like Titania said, I didn't want to find out the evil behind it.
It is so hard to screen all the books our children want to read, especially as we go to the library. I've stopped going. Those dark books in the Youth Adult section are all that's available. Classics are gone. We are to be tolerant of it? God's Word says different.
But we must do due diligence. Which requires work. Which is hard.
Sometimes it's easier to say "yes" even though I haven't read the book, rather than "no" until I have time to read the book.... Hard to be a parent today! But God enables.

Thanks for this Sonya. Growing up we were always one of the only families that intentionally stayed away from Harry Potter (and many other quickly accepted entertainment in Christian circles). The way the magic was portrayed a big part of it - as well as how other parts of the story went against God's word (vaguely remember something about main characters making a bad/rebellious choice and then being rewarded/praised for it). It's so important if we hope to faithfully follow Jesus and show our kids that same path that we guard our hearts, test against God's word, and practice putting everything under God's authority (especially entertainment which is so unimportant in light of eternity yet has a hold on so many professing hearts)
