How Do We Fight Evil?

People say we are living in the End Times.
That the world couldn’t get any worse.
That times are going to get hard.
I couldn’t agree with them more.

But a quick glance at history shows each generation thought they were living in the End Times.
What could be any worse than a world war? And then a second one?
Or what about the fulfillment of Daniel with the coming of the Roman Empire controlling the entire world?

Do we panic by knowing this?
Should we stay glued to the television to know what the enemy is doing?
As we watched the pandemic unfold, and heard “facts” change—thousands of years of science taught us you quarantine sick people, now we are told everyone must be quarantined.
We are told schools cannot meet, though children only get the disease mildly, if at all.
Are you listening to the news for information, or to be told what to think?

It could make a head dizzy with all the changing “facts” about how to be safe.
Listening to the news caused worry, fear, and escalated suicide rates.

We do not get our instructions from the news.
We do not plan our lives by what the wicked are doing.

The answer does not lie in watching tv.
How do we know what to do without staying informed?
Shouldn’t we be hoarding toilet paper?
Stockpiling food?
Planning for the end of the world?

How does listening to the news prepare you to meet God?
Isn’t that the only thing we must do?
I’ve said it before, (and I will say it again). Know how the government trains men for identifying counterfeit money?
Do they study all the different ways to make it?
No!
They study and know and memorize the REAL THING.
When they know the real thing, they can identify a fake at a glance.

Did David send out spies to find where Saul was, when he was being pursued?
Maybe.
But he didn’t base his plan on what the wicked did.
And he didn’t spend his time writing about what the wicked were doing.
What did he do?
He spent his time praising God, not reminding himself of what the wicked were doing.
He kept his mind on truth.
God was still in charge.

Psalms extols how David spent so much time in God’s Word.
It kept him from sin (Psalm 119:11).
His heart, when he brought to concentrate on the Word, was not troubled by the wicked (Psalm 37:8-9).
His very steps were commanded by God (Psalm 36:23).

You see, the Bible has the answer.

God sees what the wicked are doing.
He wasn’t surprised when Hitler took over Germany, Poland and it seemed Europe.
He was with those Christians tortured for hiding Jews and not bowing to Hitler’s agenda.

God is still in charge today.
And today's answer for what we should do still lies in His Word.
It always does.

The enemy knows this.
That’s why the enemy has taken God’s Word out of schools, off government buildings and programs, and out of any program on television.
He knows what the truth does.
For some of us, he’s succeeded in making us think the Bible isn’t that important.
Oh, we know but don’t live like it is.
The enemy knows the importance of His Word.
But we, as Christians, still read it like we had better things to do.
We finished that five minutes of obligatory reading, now the day can be ours.

Until we absorb the Word into our lives and hearts, we will never be ready for the enemy.

READ THAT AGAIN.
Absorption means that it influences every aspect of our lives, all the time.

I remember last year when COVID started, I wrote an article about how this pandemic was a means of controlling us.
I was criticized for making it a political agenda, when all the government was trying to do was “keep us safe.”
We don’t even know who our enemy is!
How did people not see what is happening?

The Bible tells us in the end times, many will be deceived, even the elect if it were possible.
Know why some were deceived, and ran out and bought toilet paper?
Because we don’t know our Bibles.
Does the Bible tell us about what to do with COVID?
Not specifically.
The Law says a lot about quarantining and sanitizing those who are sick.
It also gives answers that prepares us to answer those who want to control what we do and how we act.

To fight evil, we must know truth.
Where do we gain truth?
From the Bible.
Know it and be ready for the enemy.

How have you used the Bible to fight evil?

I write about what matters...to you---
women, wives and moms---
about your family, faith and future.
I write about what's hard, what helps and what heals.
I show you how it's done. And not done.
I hold your hand as you find what matters to the Savior.
And let go of those things that mattered to you, but not to Him.
I write about what matters...to Him.
