The Power of a Smile: How To Make Your Husband Love You

November 18, 2015

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22

Men, even your husband, are highly attracted to smiles.

Notice in a crowded room, who gets the attention? The woman who smiles.

Husbands overlook a lot of ugly, if the heart is merry.

“A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, but when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.” Proverbs 15:13
A broken spirit comes with dry bones. Do you nag your husband?
Do you tell your husband what he must do to be accepted by you? Or have his needs met?

Michael Pearl said, “No man has ever crawled out from under his wife’s criticism to be a better man---no matter how justified her condemnation.” (p. 30)

Pressure can’t bring love.
When was the last time you smiled at your husband when he came home? Does your voice portray a smile when you phone him at work?
Do not be deceived to think that other smiles cannot distract him from you. He must work to keep his focus on you. Do not take him for granted.
Your husband wants to make you smile.
“Show me your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” Song of Solomon 2:14

If you are making your list of required actions for him to prove his love to you, you won’t find a smile. No man could measure up.
If you are thanking God for the husband you have, sin and all, you will find a reason to smile.

Smiling is so linked to your soul, that Debi Pearl said, "The day you stop smiling is the day you stop trying to make your marriage heavenly---it is the first day leading to your divorce proceedings.” (p. 32)

Do you wonder at the power of your smile?
Try it, but don’t stop at that.
Ask: What can I do to make him smile?
