How do you rest?
The picture of complete and total abandoning rest is when my babies slept.
Their schedule was off. They were crabby, fussy, crying. They would fight that rest.
Their ‘unrest’ would make me angry. Just sleep. That’s what they needed.
But they would fight it.
When they finally closed their eyes and slept, quietness came.
And Rest.
Aren’t we like that?
Sunday becomes a day to do on all that didn’t get finished through the week.
Where’s the rest?
We see Mary and Martha visiting with Jesus.
Martha is ‘distracted’ with the meal.
Food is pretty important. I get crabby if I don’t eat.
Mary sits at Jesus’s feet.
Who chose better?
Jesus said, “Only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part.”
When you pray, but think of ten things you need to do, now.
When you babies and little ones demand all your energy and you must leave the housework to
Jesus said, “Only one thing is necessary.”
Where is your focus? What do you choose?

What keeps you from resting? How do you overcome that?

So glad that I can rest nowadays when I need to, at least usually! And I plan to really rest on Sundays!
